Ronald, Judge James T., House

historic place

The Judge James T. Ronald House, in Seattle's Leschi neighborhood, was built between 1888 and 1889. Judge James T. Ronald purchased the property in 1889. By 1904, he had renovated and expanded it into a Neoclassical mansion. This residence became a hub for cultural and political events in early Seattle. Judge Ronald was a notable civic leader, serving as Seattle's Mayor in 1892 and later as a King County Superior Court Judge for 40 years. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and is a designated City of Seattle Landmark. It reflects an important period in Seattle's architectural and civic development.
