Shuey, Henry Owen, House

historic place

The Henry Owen Shuey House, a historic place in Seattle's University District, was built in 1908. Architect E.S. Bell designed this large, Neo-classical style residence for Henry Owen Shuey. Shuey was a prominent Seattle banker and developer. He contributed to the city's growth in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, involved in building or funding over one thousand houses. The Shuey House itself, notable for its size, occupies more than two building lots in the University Park neighborhood. Henry Owen Shuey lived here with his family until 1917. This property is a designated City Landmark. No historical marker text is available for this location.
