Turner-Koepf House

historic place

The Turner-Koepf House, a historic place in Seattle's King County, was built in 1886 by Edward A. and Estelle Turner. It originally featured an Italianate architectural style. Between 1906 and 1916, the house was converted to the Queen Anne style. The Koepf family resided here from 1890 to 1921. For many decades, the property served as a gathering place for community groups, including the Jefferson Park Ladies' Improvement Club and the Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs. Also known as the Garden House, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 22, 1976, and is a City of Seattle landmark. Historic Seattle acquired the property in December 2021, with plans for its restoration and continued community use. Specific historical marker text and its erection year are not available. This house illustrates Seattle's early residential development and its long-standing community role.
