This Neoclassical building was designed by the Beezer Brothers, architects who moved to Seattle in 1907. Constructed of steel and concrete, it features a gleaming white exterior clad in terra cotta tiles. The University State Bank, incorporated in 1906, became the University National Bank of Seattle in 1922. The building served continuously as a bank for 106 years, operating under various entities, including Wells Fargo, until its closure in 2018. In 2021, the University National Bank Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Seattle landmark. Its exterior is a preserved feature. This structure is historically significant for its architectural style and its long-standing role in the University District's financial history.
