Ward House
historic place
The Ward House, a historic place in Seattle, King County, was built in 1882 for George and Louise Ward. This structure features an Italian Villa architectural style. Originally located at the southwest corner of Pike Street and Boren Avenue, the house was moved in 1905, then again in 1986, to its current site at 520 East Denny Way. Historic Seattle assisted its relocation. The Ward House became a Seattle Landmark in 1976 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. A historical marker on the property identifies it as 'Seattle's Oldest Building' from 1882. Today, it houses professional offices. The Ward House showcases early Seattle residential architecture.
