The Peter Schulderman House, Seaview, Washington
historic place
The Peter Schulderman House is a Historic Place in Seaview, Pacific County, Washington. It was constructed around 1894 for Peter H. Schulderman, a businessman from Portland. Schulderman purchased the property in 1894, and Portland contractor Henry Christianson built the house. This Victorian cottage is characterized by a picturesque roofline, projecting bays, a broad veranda, and an octagonal corner turret. It was built as a summer home for the Schulderman family and has been used exclusively for this purpose since its completion. The house maintains outstanding interior and exterior integrity. The Peter Schulderman House is an architecturally significant example of the Victorian summer cottages built in the late 19th century on the Long Beach peninsula. It is recognized as one of the best-preserved 19th-century summer cottages in the peninsula's oceanfront communities. The property has remained a summer retreat for Schulderman's descendants. This house reflects the architectural style favored in the resort communities of that era.
