historic place

The John P. and Mary Kiggins House is a historic place in Vancouver, Washington. This 2.5-story Craftsman style house was built in 1907. It features narrow wooden bevel siding and a painted metal tile roof. The house was home to John P. Kiggins, a prominent local figure. Kiggins served as Vancouver's mayor for four non-consecutive terms, from 1909 to 1938. He was also a movie theater magnate and civic booster. His wife was Mary J. Connerton Kiggins. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 30, 1995. In 2008, it was relocated due to downtown redevelopment. Now used as office space, the John P. and Mary Kiggins House represents a significant period of Vancouver's development and its influential residents.
